Margaret "Peggy" E. Bullerman, 73, of Waterloo, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.
Peggy was born on December 20, 1950, in Waterloo to Lloyd C. and Margaret M. (Schmitt) Harp, Jr. She married Ivan "Butch" Bullerman on September 21, 1968, at St. John's Catholic Church in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on January 6, 2018.
Peggy graduated from Waterloo West High in 1969. Early in she and Butch's marriage, she worked for Waterloo Industries and did bookkeeping for the family business. Later in life, Peggy went back to school, earning her associates degree from Hawkeye Tech with honors. While her true calling was being a homemaker and volunteering, spending time with her family, friends, church family, and meeting others during volunteer work. Peggy's volunteer efforts included working at the local election polls for the election board, being involved with CASA, Alternatives Pregnancy Center, and hosting numerous events in their home for their church families. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading and traveling. In recent years, she took family trips to Italy, Costa Rica, Alaska, and the Caribbean.
She is also preceded in death by her father and brother, Steven Harp.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Jay (Andrea) Bullerman and Chris (Callie) Bullerman; mother, Margaret M. Harp; brothers, Charles (Virginia) Harp, Rod (Tracey) Harp, and Randy (Jan) Harp, all of Waterloo; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park with burial following at Waterloo Cemetery.
