JoAnn M. McKenna, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at home on May 31, 2024; she was 75 years old.

Born and raised in the Waterloo/Cedar Falls area, she spent her entire life there. She was the daughter of Lester and Verna (Davis) Hesse.

Her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy and the center of her world. Joann had a special talent for finding unique gifts that perfectly suited each of her loved ones. Her thoughtful, customized presents were a testament to her deep love for her family.

Joann's final days were filled with the love and care of her husband, whose dedication to her well-being was unwavering. The family would like to thank the Unity Point Hospice care team who provided compassionate support when caring for Joann.

Preceding Joann in death are her parents; sister, Jean Fank; and son, DJ McKenna. Joann is survived by her husband, Don McKenna; daughter, Teri (Zach) Phillips; stepdaughters, Cindy (Melvin) Johnson, Lisa (Darrell) Moose, and Kay (Tim) Fravel, grandchildren, Katie Johnson, Nic (Christina) Stewart, Mariah McKenna, and two great-grandchildren.
