Logan Patrick Richardson, 21, of Waterloo died Tuesday April 16, 2024. He was born March 6, 2003, in Brownsville, Tx, and proudly identified himself as a Texican. He entered the foster care system at a very young age. Logan was placed in Carleen Launderville's care in 2005. He was later adopted by Carleen's sister and her wife, Lori and Auggie Richardson. They lived in Laurens, Ia for a short time before moving to Waterloo.
Logan attended West High School. He had been employed at the Cedar Falls Walmart as an associate in the produce and meat departments, and later the digital online shopping department.
Logan had two passions in life: fishing and knives. Anyone that truly knew Logan knew his love for fishing. He would spend hours by rivers, lakes, and ponds, anywhere he thought there might be a fish to catch. Logan also loved knives. He collected all different kinds, and had stories about many of them, where they came from, and what they were used for, during their time historically. He modified some and would also hand make sheaths.
Logan also enjoyed being outside. Especially camping, chopping wood and building campfires to see how big he could make them. He loved driving around in his truck listening to his music, sometimes driving way to fast (earning many speeding tickets.) He liked to draw and was extremely talented at it. He watched YouTube videos to learn how to do or make whatever he wanted. When he came across something funny or something he thought his mom Lori would like, he would send it to her. Working on cars was his latest interest.
He is survived by his moms Lori Richardson of Waterloo, and Agustina Richardson of Lake Park; his sister Carol (Ryan) Rowe of Lake Park; brother Chris (Dessa) Catala of Waterloo; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends, and his cat Oscar.
Logan was preceded in death by his foster mom/aunt Carleen Lauderville; grandmas: JoAnn Richardson and Carol Catala; grandpa Carl Richardson; and his cousin Marie Spalding.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 26, from 9-11AM at Locke at Tower Park (4140 Kimball Ave), with a Funeral Service starting at 11:00. Memorials may be directed to his family.
