Terry Lane Pettit

Terry Pettit, 71, of Waterloo, died Friday, November 15, 2024, at her home surrounded by loved ones. She was born October 14, 1953, in Farmington, NM, daughter of Colleen Blackburn. She married Daniel Pettit, Sr. on August 13, 1978, in Des Moines, he preceded her in death on March 4, 2017.

Terry was not the kind of person to sit around. She was a hustler at many jobs and businesses she owned throughout her life. She earned a bachelor's degree in architecture and worked in that field. She also operated food stands in Waterloo and Texas and was partial owner of Whitey's Locker Room and the Wet Spot in Evansdale. She had also worked at Cornbelt Auctions.

Terry was the most amazing mother anyone could ask for. She was an excellent cook, who taught that talent to others, and put food together for many Pettit karaoke parties. She also enjoyed crochet, knitting, and making doll clothes for people.

Terry leaves behind a large loving family including: her son Daniel and his former wife Amy and their children: Ashlie, Anthony, Wyatt, Daniel III, Eva, Emma Jo, and Elizabeth; her daughter Cowanda and her children: Tommy, Tyler, and Brittany and great grandchildren Theodore, A'marah, and Silas Leroy Sisouphanh on the way; her daughter Brenda and her children: Stephanie and Robert; her daughter Tammy and her children: Hallie, Dustin and Tanner, her daughter Toni Odom and her children: Anthony Jr. Shyvonne, Dasia, and Kayanna; her daughter Luanne (Mike) Fankhauser and their children: Mikey, Lisa, Missy, Brittany, Sarah, Richard, Zayan, Terry, Brody, and Eddie; and her daughter Tanaha (Anthony) and her children: Alizae, Shalaya, Enayjah, and Eric Jr. She was preceded by her mother and husband, Daniel.

There will be a family directed Memorial Service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3006 Pleasant Dr, Cedar Falls, Wednesday, November 20, 2024, starting at 11 AM with visitation one hour prior. Memorials may be directed to the family.
