Susan L. “Sue” Geisler

Susan L. “Sue” Geisler, 67 of Waterloo, died Saturday, May 10, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. She was born July 11, 1957, in Waterloo, daughter of Chester “Arnie” and Genevieve (Smelser) Fairbanks. Sue graduated from Central High School in 1975. She married Daniel Joseph Geisler June 24, 1995, at the St. John Church, Waterloo.

She worked at several jobs over the years. Most recently, she worked as a secretary for Wa-terloo Prosthetics and then later for Eagle Ottawa. She was a member of the Central Chris-tian Church, Waterloo. Sue enjoyed a good book and could be found with Dan camping when they had time. She had a servant’s heart (no matter how bad she felt) always willing to help. Sue was most recently volunteering at AFIL (Americans for Independent Living).

Sue is survived by her husband, Dan Geisler of Waterloo; her two brothers, Rick Fairbanks of Mulberry, Florida, and Brian Fairbanks of Lakeland, Florida; nephews, Zach, Jacob, and Jason (Madi); mother-in-law, Barb and Charlie Mims of Waterloo; and brother-In-law, Greg and Lisa Geisler of Cedar Falls.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Fairbanks; nephew, Travis Geisler; and Dan’s father, Ronald Geisler.

Celebration of Life will be held 1:00 to 3:00pm Sunday, July 13, 2025, AFIL (American’s for Independent Living) 4020 University Ave., Waterloo
