Stanley Leonard Reed

October 21, 1953–April 11, 2023

Stan Reed, 69, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital.

Stan was born on October 21, 1953, in Waterloo, the son of Charles and Jeanette Zwiep Reed and graduated from West High School in 1971.

He married Susan D. White and they divorced after 31 years together. He spent the next 20+ years with Joan Beard.

Stan worked at John Deere mostly at East Donald Tractor Works in the paint department retiring after 40 years in 2013.

He is survived by his long-time partner Joan, son Jacob Reed and daughter Kelly Smith, all of Waterloo; nine grandchildren: Jade, Jarren, Jackson, Quincy, Corbin, Kiara, Connor, Kameron, and Carson; great grandchildren, Dasire and I'zavion; a sister Janice Davenport; niece Jody Spalink; and Joan's sons Brian and Charles Adams.

Stan is preceded by his parents; sister Mary Wolfe and brother in law Bob Wolfe; and best friend Scott Sells.

Celebration of Life Open House: stop by between the hours of 10:30 AM to noon on Thursday, April 20, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th St., Waterloo followed by a short graveside service at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 3669 Logan Ave., Waterloo.
