Sherri Lynn Spilman

Sherri Lynn Spilman, 55, of Waterloo and formerly of Moline, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023 at UnityPoint Health Allen Hospital.

She was born March 8, 1968 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Terry and Ruth (Schafer) Allen.

Sherri graduated from Moline High School with the class of 1986. She continued her education at Stewarts School of Hairstyling in Davenport.

She married Larry E. Chandler on May 7, 1988 in Moline; he preceded her in death on January 11, 2019. She married Edward Lee Spilman on July 31, 2021 in Waterloo.

Before moving to Waterloo, Sherri owned and operated Total Elements Hair Salon in Moline.

She and Ed were members of Faith Assembly of God in Elk Run Heights. Sherri had a wonderful sense of humor and was known to be a little feisty, telling people exactly what was on her mind. She enjoyed traveling when the opportunity would arise. Sherri had a passion for animals. She wouldn't turn down a rescue cat or dog and always had an abundance of pets. Her heart was full of love for these animals as well as her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survived by her mother, Ruth Allen of Moline, IL; husband, Ed Spilman of Waterloo; two daughters, Breana (Louis) Trujillo of Colona, IL and Brooke Chandler (Tra Banks) of Silvis, IL; two grandchildren, Grayson and Avery Trujillo; brother, Brian (Amy) Allen of Moline, IL; and mother-in-law, Doris Chandler of Malden, MO.

Preceded in death by her father, Terry Allen; husband, Larry Chandler; grandmother, Lois Dean; and father-in-law, Ronald Chandler.
