Sharon Kay Clark, 84, of Waterloo, passed away on Monday, September 16, 2024, in Waterloo.
She was born July 2, 1940, in Waterloo, the daughter of Darrell and Beverly (Johnson) Baish. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1958, then attended AIB in Des Moines and obtained an associate's degree in business.
Sharon married George Clark; they later divorced.
She worked for KWWL and was the secretary for the newsroom for 17 years. She then worked for John Deere Community Credit Union for 15 years as a receptionist, retiring in 2002.
Sharon enjoyed embroidery, crossword puzzles, and circle words. She also enjoyed spending time at Clear Lake, traveling, and attending her grandchildren's sporting events.
She is survived by three children, Candy (Mark) Hersey, Debbie (Jim) Kline, and Kelly (Kortney) Clark, all of Waterloo; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Dustin, and Hailee Hunter, Colton Hersey, Brandon Clark, Santana Clark, Gabby Clark and Corey Beem; 11 great-grandchildren, Josie and Rylie Hunter, Lakelyn and Brooks Hunter, Korbin, Kaian, and Kollins Podhaski, Theo Hersey, Raelynn, Kacey, and Colt Beem; and one brother, Gary Baish of Waterloo.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Randy Clark; and two grandsons, Jeremy Clark and Cody Hersey.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th Street, with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery, both in Waterloo.
Visitation for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
