Sharon Ann "Sherry" Lund, 77, of Waterloo, passed away at her home on Monday, January 22, 2024.

Sherry was born on October 27, 1946, in Waterloo, Iowa, to her parents Francis & Louise (Wolf) Kemmer. She was raised in Waterloo, where she attended Catholic School, graduating from Columbus High School. After high school, she met and married Jonathan Lund; they were blessed with three children. The two later divorced.

She spent most of her working years staying home to care for her children and home, and when her children were older, she began working at JC Penney in Waterloo, where she worked for many years.

Sherry was a lover of animals, especially cats, was an avid reader, enjoying reading about history, crocheting, taking local scenic road trips, was a lover of nature, shopping of any kind, going out to eat with her friends and family, but most of all, Sherry enjoyed the time spent with her family.

She is survived by her children Jim (Angela) Lund of Waterloo and Jennifer Lund of Loveland, CO; daughter in law Sheri Lund of Des Moines; grandchildren Brittney Lund, Nick (Lisa) Lund, Gage Lund & Samuel Lund; great-grandchildren Quinn and Reese Lund; siblings Diane Young, Mary (Rod) Curran, Jerry (Cindy) Kemmer, Paul (Patty) Kemmer all of Waterloo and Mark (Kari) Kemmer of Dike; best friend Lisa Miller of Waterloo. She is preceded in death by her parents; son Jon Lund.

Inurnment will be held privately by the family at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family.
