Sandra Lee Schares, age 85, passed away peacefully on Tuesday April 8, 2025, at her home surrounded by loved ones.

Sandra was born November 27, 1939, in Washington Township Iowa to Earl and Lucille (Hickman) Hardee. She grew up with 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Sandy and her first husband, William Bennie Bagg had 7 children together; Bill (Anita), Bob (Sheila), Terry (Annette), Collene (Jake), Bennie, Jerry and Jim.

Later she married George Schares and expanded her family and friends even more.

She worked for Holiday Inn, Rath and UNI.

She had an abundance of grandkids, great grandkids and great-great grandkids. She always loved spending time with her family and friends.

Fishing was something she really enjoyed doing, along with any chance she could get to dance with family and friends. She was a free spirit who definitely knew how to have fun. She almost always had a smile on her face, and you could always hear her laughing. Sandy touched the hearts of so many and will be missed.

Family will receive friends from 9:30 – 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Hagerman Baptist Church, funeral service will take place at 11:00 also on April 25, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
