Ruth Jergens, 82, of Waterloo, died on Tuesday March 5, 2019 at NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Ruth was born on June 17, 1936 in Waterloo; the daughter of Fred W. and Bertha Augusta (Siellof) Klemz.

Ruth graduated from Cedar Falls High School, class of 1954.

Following graduation, Ruth worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company and later, worked at Wal-Mart for 10 years, retiring in 2007.

She married Elmer Everett Jergens on June 15, 1957 in Waterloo; he preceded her in death on August 10, 2011.

She is survived by her four children: daughter, Rebecca (Mark) McCann of Jackson’ MN; son, Kevin (Kris) Jergens of Becker’ MN; son, Steven (Carla) Jergens of Hendersonville’ TN; and daughter, Cynthia (Danny) Wyatt of Hendersonville’ TN; Eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; a brother, Richard Klemz; four sisters, Alice Albrecht, Mabel Rust, Norine Venter, and Fern Buffington.
