Roosevelt was born on December 18, 1933, in Canton, MS, to Levi and Anna Belle (Hill) Davenport. He attended high school in Canton, MS. Roosevelt honorably served his country in the military before returning home to build a life centered on faith, family, and hard work. He and Mildred spent 52 years together until her passing on February 8, 2021.
Roosevelt was a hardworking man who spent many years as a machine mechanic at John Deere. After retirement, he fulfilled a lifelong dream of driving semi-trucks and later enjoyed a second career as a car transporter. He was known for his dedication, quiet strength, and commitment to his church and community.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna Bell Bennet, and Ella Ree Gross; brother, Jimmie Davenport; daughter, Cynthia Bush; and granddaughter, Chanel Benford.
