Ronald Leonard Esch

Ronald “Ron” Esch, 72, of Waterloo, died Sunday, September 13, at his home surrounded by family. He was born March 4, 1948 in Waterloo, to Ronald C. and Phyllis J. Tilley Esch and graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1966. Ron was a railcar repairman for G.E. Railcar Repair (formerly North American Railcar Repair) for 36 years retiring in 2012. He married Jacqueline “Jackie” M. McNamara April 13, 1974 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He was a member of UAW Local #838. Ron is survived by his wife, Jackie, 5 daughters, Kristi Esch Collins‚ Bobbi (Bob) Lenehan, Conni Esch, Nicki Esch, and DeeAnn Esch, and son-in-law, Dominic Ostrander, all of Waterloo; 7 grandchildren, Kaleb Collins, Ash Collins, Blake Lenehan, Taylor Lenehan, Cylis Hall, and Lennon and Sophia Rogers; and sisters, Heather Waterman of Waterloo and Sandy (Dennis) Reisner of Cedar Rapids. Preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carri Sue Esch; and son, Cori David Esch.
