Ronald “Ron” “Ronny” Simmerman, 57, of Waterloo, died on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at home.

He was born July 3, 1963 in Waterloo, son of Gary G. and Marlene Neelans Simmerman. Ron graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1982.

He married Shelly Smith September 9, 1995.

Ron worked at Performance Carbide for 27 years as a CNC Machinist until retiring in 2016.

He enjoyed going to concerts. Ron was a big fan of the San Francisco 49’ers. He loved going on motorcycle rides with his best friend Rob, spending time with family especially his grandson, and spending time at the Jet Bar with friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Shelly of Waterloo; daughter, Jessica (Matt Whiteman) Simmerman; grandson, Skyler Whiteman; brother, Ken (Kristi) Simmerman; two brothers-in-law, Kim Cordes, and Larry Smith; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Bill Smith; two sisters, Pam Cordes, and Tammy Gram (April 17, 2021); and one brother, John Meyers.
