Romondus Lamar Cooper

Romondus Lamar Cooper, 44, of Cedar Rapids, IA, died on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, of a homicide.

He was born on October 29, 1979, in Waterloo, IA, to Robert and April Arnold Smith.

Romondus married Melissa Cronan on July 17, 1999, in Waterloo; they later divorced.

He received his CDL in 2013 and began working as a truck driver.

Romondus loved spending time with his boys and flying drones. He was a collector of things and enjoyed taking old things and making them new and shiny.

Romondus is survived by his sons, Moriyandus Cooper and Corde Cooper, both of Cedar Rapids; brothers, William (Francis) Smith, Orlando (Michelle) Cooper and Martavis Smith and sister, Tavonjia Denise Hill, all of Waterloo; a special cousin, Jean Paul Cooper; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

NO MEDIA ALLOWED OR PICTURES WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE CHURCH.

Family-directed Memorial Service: 11:30 AM on Friday, June 14, 2024, at Hope City Church, Waterloo.

A memorial fund has been established for his sons at Veridian Credit Union.
