Robert L. “Bob” Lester Harting

Robert L. “Bob” Harting, 93, of Waterloo, died Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.

He was born August 15, 1932, in Hudson, the son of William and Dovie Harting. He married Darlene Schick on January 10, 1953, in Missouri; they later divorced.

Bob worked at Rath Packing Company in Waterloo for many years.

He is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Clarissa Ahlen of Waterloo; three children, Leland “Lee” (Dixie) Harting of Gilbertville, Leonard (Bonnie) Harting of Jesup, and Roberta “Bobbie” (Cliff) Federspiel of Jesup; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Roxanne Jones, Lester Harting, and Richard Harting; four grandchildren, Jennifer Harting, Justin Harting, Amber Jones, and Amanda Jones; and two sisters, Irene and Joyce.
