Richard Adams, 75, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at Cedar Falls Health Care Center. Richard was born September 27, 1934, in Mitchell, Iowa, the son of Charles and Sadie Pfliger Adams.

Richard grew up in Staceyville, served in U.S. Army during the Korean War, and married Lois M. Carpenter September 5, 1956, in La Crosse, WI. She died January 11, 2009. He worked for Viking Pump and for 30 years at John Deere retiring in 1994.

Richard is survived by his son Barry Adams of Waterloo, daughter Becky (Darrell) Starkey of Waterloo, son Keith Adams of Waterloo, daughter LaNette Adams of Waterloo, 9 grandchildren: Amy Adams, Rob Leavell, Brian Adams, Kevin Adams, Rachel Leavell, Kimi Adams, Kacey Adams, Kara Adams, and Charles Adams, 17 great grandchildren, sister Mildred Valasek of Mitchellville, IA, sister Genevieve (Roy) Walters of Osage, IA, and brother Charles (Sonja) Adams of Arizona City, AZ.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 sisters: Vivian Orman, Geraldine Johnson, and Betty Brooking, and brother Bill Adams.
