Raynard Albert Engel

Raynard A. Engel, 93, of Waterloo, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2024, at Friendship Village-Wellspring Living.

Raynard was born in Dinsdale on March 15, 1931, to Johannes and Erna (Haverberg) Engel. He graduated from Orange High School in 1949. Raynard married Donna Lichty on April 14, 1950, in Waterloo. Raynard worked as a scheduler for John Deere for over 20 years. He spent a brief period of time farming, enjoyed Ham Radio and his call sign was WA0EEY. Raynard was a member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Steven Engel; sisters, Anna “Allene” Engel Leistikow, and Gladys M. Engel Reisinger; and brother, Ronald J. Engel.

Raynard is survived by his wife, Donna Engel of Waterloo; daughter, Susan (Jerry) Northey of Waterloo; sons, Mark (Barbara) Engel of Cedar Falls and Randy (Linda) Engel of Elk Run Heights; sister, Doris (Dick) Saul of Cedar Falls; 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 13 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Funeral Service: Family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 30, 2024, at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. Burial will take place at Orange Township Cemetery.
