Elder Raney Jackson, 84, of Waterloo, IA, passed away unexpectedly on, Saturday, March 11, 2023.

He was born February 11, 1939, to Henry and Francis Jackson in Senatobia, MS.

He married Cora Lee Jackson on January 4, 1959. To this union, 8 children were born.

Elder Jackson accepted Christ while in his 20's. He preached the word of God for 50+ years and was ordained as a minister by Bishop Bassett in August of 1982.

He started Pastoring New Bethany C.O.G.I.C. in Marshalltown, IA. in 2003 and continued for six years. He also was a member in good standing at Shilliam Ave. C.O.G.I.C.

He retired in September of 1999 from John Deere after working in the foundry for 33 years.

Elder Jackson loved The Lord, his family, gardening, staying healthy and singing! He would share a lot of his garden's harvest with others and made sure he would send "care packages" to his children. He would often visit the sick and the shut-in.

ELDER JACKSON WAS A VERY STRONG MAN OF GOD who always wanted what was best for his family. He was a man of his word and whatever he said, he meant!

Elder Jackson was recognized as "Big Brother of the Year" in 1986 by the Big Brothers organization partly due to the nomination of his "Little Brother", Phillip Sallis

Elder Jackson served in many roles within the C.O.G.I.C. of Iowa, and the C.H. Mason District, such as: Sunday School Superintendent and President of Y.P.W.W. just to name a couple.

Elder Jackson is survived by his Loving Wife Cora, four sisters: Sweetie B. Jackson, and Betty Jean Jackson both of Senatobia, MS, Irma Marie Jackson of Milwaukee, WI and Francis Mae Jackson of Horn Lake, MS. His children: Randy Jackson Sr. (Cheryl) of Council Bluffs, IA, Virginia Jackson, (Juan) of West Palm Beach, FL, Kenny Jackson (Deb) of Minneapolis, MN, JoeAnn Jackson-Matthews (Robert) of Minneapolis, MN, Christine Jackson (Willie) of Eden Prairie, MN, Frances Jackson (Kevin) of Minneapolis, MN, and Cora Mae Jackson of Eden Prairie, MN. Sixteen grandchildren, twenty nine great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, a special friend/brother Richard Young and a host of nieces, nephews, godchildren, extended family and friends.

Elder Jackson was preceded in death by his mother and father, maternal and paternal grandparents, an infant son, Larry Jackson, one brother, Thomas (Joe) Cox/Jackson, four sisters, Elizabeth Jackson, Bernice Young, Cora Mae Jackson and Bessie Mae Mabry.
