Phyllis Jene Robinson 96, of Waterloo, died Friday, September 13, 2024, at home of natural causes, while a patient of Cedar Valley Hospice.

She was born September 1, 1928, in Gladbrook, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Baier) Jindrich. She married Paul A. Robinson on October 5, 1951.

A strongly devout Catholic, she was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she served as Choir Director for over 35 years. During that time, she organized and led "The Generations," a musical group featuring religious music. The group recorded and released an LP of religious music entitled "Sing Praise" in the early 1970s. Music was her passion; she filled her home with singing and made time to foster a love of music in her children and grandchildren and gave lessons on the piano and guitar. Phyllis became a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in 2009, where she regularly attended Sunday Mass. She was a long-time member of the Waterloo Board of Realtors and was a Broker/Realtor operating Preferred Realty in Waterloo until 2019.

Phyllis is survived by four daughters, Cathryn of Cedar Falls, Cynthia (Don) Balsanek of Cedar Rapids, CarolAnne of Crestone, CO, and Camille (Jeff) Roe of La Farge, WI.; four sons, Paul (Roberta) of Independence, Harland of Waterloo, Thomas (Marilyn) of Waterloo, and Philip of Traer; and her sister-in-law, Esther Jindrich of Gladbrook; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; brothers, Lawrence (Jack) Jindrich and Paul Jindrich; sister, Maxine Power; brother-in-law, LaVern J. (Joe) Power; sister-in-law, Joyce Jindrich; daughter-in-law, Karla Robinson; nephews, Daniel J. Power and Dennis D. Robinson; and niece, Constance Schroeder.

Services: Saturday, September 28, 2024, at 10:30 a.m.at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Waterloo, followed by burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. There will be Visitation from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m. and a 6:30 p.m. Vigil Service. Visitation at the Church for one hour prior to the Funeral Mass on Saturday, September 28, 2024, starting at 9:30 a.m.
