Pearl Apling, 88, of NewAldaya Lifescapes in Cedar Falls, died there on Monday, December 30, 2013.

Pearl was born January 23, 1925 in Dike, Iowa, the daughter of Johns and Gerdina Molendorf Johnson.

She married Upton Apling on July 5, 1948 at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls. He died November 12, 2002.

Pearl worked for the Wagner Door Manufacturing Co and also Clopay Door.

She was member of Cedar Heights Presbyterian Church.

Pearl is survived by three sons: James Apling of Waterloo, Michael (Joann) Apling of Janesville, and Donald (Heidi) Apling of Waterloo; two grandchildren: Christopher & Hannah Apling; two sisters: Jean Boer of Waterloo and Carol Green of Cedar Falls; and two brothers: Harvey Johnson of Cedar Falls and Robert Johnson of La Porte City.

Pearl was preceded in death by her husband and twelve brothers and sisters.
