Patrick "Pat" George Clemens, 70, of Evansdale, passed away on Thursday, October 26th at MercyOne Medical Center, in Waterloo.
Pat was born on November 25, 1952, in Waterloo, Iowa, to his parents James Wilbur and Dorothy (Borwig) Clemens. He grew up in Evansdale, where he lived most of his life. On November 14, 1986, Pat was united in marriage to Mary Schultz in Waterloo. The couple welcomed daughter Lisa, to their family.
Pat began his working career as a landscaper for a few years, later beginning his career with Waterloo Industries, where he worked for 26 years, until the business closed. He then began working various truck driving jobs, where he was very proud to be a semi driver. Pat was also a member of the local Masonic Lodge.
In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, cooking, had a love for music, playing the guitar, playing cards with friends, spending time in his backyard, and seeing his friends at the local bar. He could be stubborn at times, but Pat could also be very tender, considerate, and funny; his demeanor and wittiness could make the hospital staff laugh and they enjoyed having him as a patient. He will be lovingly remembered by those he leaves behind, especially his close family.
Pat is survived by his wife Mary, of Evansdale; daughter Lisa (Scott) Headington of Evansdale; sister Sydney Reiter of Waterloo; furry companion, Mocha. He was preceded in death by his parents; twin sisters in infancy; numerous special pets.
Visitation for Pat will be held on Wednesday, November 1st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Masonic service beginning at 6:30 PM at Locke on 4th, 1519 W. 4th Street, Waterloo, Iowa. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 2nd at 10:00 AM at Locke on 4th. Burial will follow the funeral service at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery.
