Patricia Joan Hoskins

Patricia 'Pat' Hoskins, 84, formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, March 8, 2024, at Maple Manor Village in Aplington.

She was born December 12, 1939, in Maquoketa, daughter of Joseph and Mary (Shaser) Schiel. She graduated from Waterloo West High School. Pat married Lael D Hoskins on July 14, 1962, at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2022.

Pat worked as a homemaker, raising 5 children. She also helped Lael with his business at Vermeer Sales and Service, which was a big part of their lives for 50 years. They enjoyed wintering in Mesa, AZ. Pat also liked to crochet, and was in bowling leagues earlier in life.

She is survived by her children: son, John Hoskins of Waterloo; three daughters, Janann (Rick) Bauler of Hudson, Donna (Chris) Mayer of Melbourne, and Jaclyn Lampson of Waverly; grandchildren: Kristie Mayer, Paige (Ryan) Nelson, Jenny Mayer (Spencer Thornton), Rachel Bauler, Samantha Bauler, Julie Bauler, Codi Lampson, Hunter (Avygail) Saul, Tanner Lampson, Autumn Lampson; two sisters: Judy (Bob) Wirtz of Waterloo, and Rita Wagner of Freeport, IL; and two great -grandchildren on the way.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lael, son Dale, brother Donald Koshatka, and brothers-in law Garnold Hoskins, and Larry Hoskins.

Her funeral service will take place at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, with visitation 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM Wednesday, March 13, 2024 at Locke at Tower Park.
