Patrice Lynn Hart

Patrice Lynn "Pea" Hart, 59, of Waterloo, died Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home from natural causes.

She was born June 5, 1962, in Waterloo, the daughter of James and Bettie (Scott) Hart.

Patrice graduated from Central High School with the class of 1980. She went on to receive her associate degree from Hawkeye Community College.

She was a beloved bus driver for Durham School Services for over 10 years. She was known to be very sweet and never missing work. She had a great work ethic.

She was a member of Community Baptist Church where she served as an usher. Patrice enjoyed tending to her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved to browse the aisles at Walmart and shop at JoAnn Fabric for material for her next project. She cherished the times of food and fellowship with her friends and family.

Survived by her father, James Hart; son, Chris Houston, Sr.; daughter, Kiana Patrice Banks; three grandchildren, Tanea Houston, Chris Houston, Jr., and Royal Banks, all of Waterloo; four sisters, JoAnn (James) Walls of Greenwood, Mississippi, Sonja "Nae" Caldwell, Tonja "Tinky" Hart, and Marilyn (Milton Jr.) Byrd all of Waterloo; two brothers, James "Jimmy" (Jill) Hart of Des Moines and Darius "Darry" (Sunni) Hart of Waterloo; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her mother, Bettie Hart and two children in infancy.
