Ora C. Calton, 97, of 141 Morgan Road in Waterloo, died at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home on Tuesday, February 12, 2008.

Ora Cecil Smittle was born on October 19, 1910 in Grove Springs, Missouri, the daughter of John and Hattie Massey Smittle.

She married F. Lowell Calton on October 12, 1940 in Lebanon, Missouri; he died May 9, 1998.

Ora was an LPN at Schoitz Memorial Hospital from the 1950’s until she retired in 1975.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Waterloo and the Rebecca Lodge.

Ora is survived by her son John and his wife Bonnie of Englewood, Colorado; granddaughter Christine Calton of Tucson, Arizona, granddaughter Cindee Calton and her husband Anthony Fanchi of Iowa City, and nephew Don Edgerton and his wife Gwen of Waterloo.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister Geneva Edgerton.
