Norma Westcott, 72, of Evansdale, died Saturday, December 9, 2023, at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital. She was born May 10, 1951, in Postville, daughter of Lloyd and LaVanda (Suckow) Thornton. She attended high school in Jesup, and worked as a stay-at-home mom, raising her three children. On May 18, 2002, she married Gary Westcott at Washington Park in Waterloo.

Norma enjoyed gambling at the casino, garage sales, Bingo, and her cherished collection of M&M memorabilia. Most of all she enjoyed being around her friends and family. Her family was everything to her.

She is survived by her husband Gary of Evansdale; her son Tony (Angie) Adams of Washington, IA, and their children Clayton and Delaney; her son Jason (Jodi) Adams of Buckingham, and their children Dalton, Colton (Taylor), and Braydon (Jayden); her daughter Stephanie (Ryan) Hall of Evansdale, and their children Brynnen, Cailey and Brody; a brother, Earl (Betty) Thornton of Waterloo; sisters: Lois (Bill) Ott of Elkader, Karen (Jim) Wygle and Joann (Jim) Jordan' both of Waterloo, and Delores Peverill of Edgewater CO.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Donald Thornton, Mary Holman, and Sandra Thornton

A memorial service will take place Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 1:00 PM, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
