Nellie Eileen Hart, 105, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Northcrest Specialty Care in Waterloo, while under the care of Compassus Hospice.

Nellie was born on November 21, 1917, in Sanborn, Iowa, the daughter of David Irvin & Mary (Cooke) Wells. On August 24, 1940, Nellie was united in marriage to Roy Glenn Hart in Waterloo. The couple welcomed 5 children. Nellie stayed home to care for her home and her family.

She loved to dance, sing, play her piano, and roller skate in her younger years. She lived a long and prosperous life, and her family will deeply miss her.

Nellie is survived by her children Rose Ann (Lloyd) Eick, John Hart, James (Sharilyn) Hart, Marilyn Dolph, and Cheryl (Charles) Conkling, all of Waterloo; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy; granddaughter Kristine Hart; great-grandson Kurt Beaumont; great-great-grandson Noah Beaumont; several siblings.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, November 15th at 11:00 AM at Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family. Locke on 4th Street has been entrusted with arrangements.
