Myron LeRoy Oswald Sr.

Myron LeRoy Oswald Sr., was born on July 19, 1927, in Hanlontown, Iowa, the son of Martin & Louise (Morotz) Oswald. At the age of 17, Myron started his military career, in which he honorably served his country in the United States Navy and Army. On April 14, 1951, Myron was united in marriage to Beverly Lou Downs, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Together, the couple welcomed 12 children into their family.

He worked as a semi driver for his working career, retiring from H & W Transport. In Myron's free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, woodworking, tinkering on anything he could, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; each of them having a very special memory of him. Myron will be dearly missed by his many loved ones, he leaves behind.

Myron is survived by his loving wife Beverly of Waterloo; children Marian (Dave) Carcel of Ohio, Myron L. Oswald Jr. of Waterloo, Marlene (Brian) Oswald-Gillick of Waterloo, Jim Oswald of Wisconsin, Jack (Patty) Oswald of Des Moines, Donna Jensen of Roseville, CA, Dale Oswald, Dawn Oswald, Jewel Oswald and Mike Oswald, all of Waterloo, Rosemary Oswald of California and Bryan Oswald of Waterloo; 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He rejoins in death his parents; 5 sisters and 2 brothers; great-grandson, Ollie.

Memorial visitation for Myron will be held on Saturday, March 11th from 10:00 until a time of open sharing at 11:00 AM at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo, Iowa 50701.
