Miranda Lynn Held

Miranda Lynn Held, 20, of Cedar Falls, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022, from injuries she sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was born August 3, 2001, in Waterloo, the daughter of Charles and Rochelle Gleason Held. She was a 2019 graduate of Cedar Falls High School, where she was involved in dance, cheer, and track.

She previously worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant with Western Home Communities, and also worked at Target, and Ryder.

Miranda was a free spirit and strongly desired to travel and explore the world. She would jump in her car and let the road lead her to her next adventure. She loved the outdoors, hiking, kayaking, and nature in general. You could find her taking her cat "Leo" aka "Mr. Stink" for walks and even occasionally as a passenger on her kayak. Miranda was a determined and giving soul, destined to make a positive difference on the planet. She had a strong passion for conservation, always wanting to save the earth by recycling and doing her part. Miranda also enjoyed Pilates, the skate park, and cooking, but not necessarily the cleaning up part. Though her time with us was brief, she left a lasting influence on all who knew and loved her, and her legacy will live on forever.

Left to cherish her memories include her parents, Charles "Chuck" and Rochelle Held of Cedar Falls; a brother, Brandon (Taylor) Held; a sister, Marissa Held; a nephew, Jaxon; two nieces, Aiyana and Tayen, all of Cedar Falls; maternal grandparents, Norville Gleason and Madeline Gleason, both of Evansdale; and paternal grandparents, Tom and Vickie Held of Waterloo.

Services: will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 13, 2022, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. Waterloo, Iowa 50701, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 12, 2022, at Locke at Tower Park and also the hour before the service.
