Millie Heller, 101, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Lakeview Landing of Friendship Village on Saturday, October 19, 2013, of natural causes.

Mildred Josephine Chapman was born on July 11, 1912, in Butler County, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Fannie Hammond Chapman.

She graduated from Hansell High School in 1931.

Millie married Alvin E. Heller on February 23, 1935, in Minnesota. He died March 7, 1988.

She worked at the Ben Franklin Store on La Porte Road for 25 years, retiring in 1984. She was an excellent seamstress and use to make all of her own as well as her daughter’s clothes.

She was a member of Kimball Ave. United Methodist Church.

Millie is survived by her son David and his wife Mary of Waterloo; her daughter Ramona Daringer and her husband Jim of Foley, Alabama; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Oscar Chapman and sisters Gladys McKinney and Gail Tucker.
