Michael G. George Riley

Michael G. Riley, 73, of Waterloo, died on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at his home.

He was born on January 7, 1953, in San Francisco, CA, to Garold and Dorothy Davis Riley.

Michael graduated from Humboldt High School in 1972.

He married Mary L. Sandquist on June 21, 1975.

Michael worked at the John Deere Foundry, retiring in 2001 and was a member of UAW Local 838. He enjoyed listening to the Chicago Cubs games on the radio and was a Chicago Bears fan as well. He liked doing puzzles-crosswords and word finds and playing cards-solitaire. He was a huge coffee buff.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Riley, and son, Robert Riley, both of Waterloo; grandson, Austin Howe of Reinbeck; and four great grandchildren.

Michael is preceded in death by his parents and son, David Riley.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Locke on 4th, 1519 West 4th St., Waterloo, with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo,

Visitation will be for one hour before services at the funeral home.
