Michael James Alexander Jr. Jr.

Michael James Alexander Jr., 35, of Sacramento, California, formerly of Waterloo, died Monday, May 19, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Waterloo under heartbreaking circumstances. He was born April 6, 1990, in Waterloo, the son of Debra Marie Tucker and Michael James Alexander, Sr. Michael graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Sacramento, CA in 2008. He went on to attend Heald Community College and received his associate's degree in business administration.

He worked for Marriott Courtyard and Coremark Distribution Warehouse until his untimely death.

Michael fathered four beautiful children, Eternity Alexander of Waterloo, Oakland Alexander of Des Moines, Amyra Alexander of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Michael Pedro Alexander of Sacramento, California. His legacy will live on through them. He also leaves behind his parents, Debra Tucker of Waterloo, Michael and Pearl Alexander of Sacramento, California; siblings, Anthony (Yolanda) Davis of Marion, Shalonda (Nathan) Tyler of Des Moines, Leeza Andrews, Nichella Andrews, Ericka Barnes of Des Moines, Elijah Moore of Waterloo; bonus siblings, Laika (John) Burt-Sanford, Lance Burt, Damaris Burt, Sr., all of Waterloo, and Justin Jones of Denver, Colorado; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Michael was a gifted wordsmith and poet who loved music. He traveled to New York, Las Vegas, South Carolina, Boston, Chicago, and all over California performing in battle rap competitions under the persona "Dr. Jeer". He was loved and revered by the underground music industry. His light shined with every performance, and he gave his all to his craft. He left his voice for us to hear forever.

He is preceded by paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Alexander; maternal grandparents, Isaac and Roberta Davis; brother, Marcellus Andrews; and childhood friend Brandon Pendleton.

We will miss his free spirit, laugh, and infectious energy.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00pm, Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Locke at Tower Park. Service at 1:00pm., Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave., Waterloo.

Gifts, donations and memorials may be directed to the family at 717 Manson Street where they will be receiving family and friends.
