Mary Magdalena Juhl, 92, of Shell Rock, IA, formerly of Waterloo, died on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Shell Rock Health Care Center.

Mary was born April 22, 1934, in Waverly, IA, to Harry and Goldie Stufflebeam McDermott.

She married Robert H. Juhl on January 15, 1955; he preceded her in death on August 25, 1982.

Mary worked as an elementary secretary for Waterloo Community Schools for 27 years; retiring in May 1996.

She enjoyed doing needlepoint, crocheting, and sewing.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Karen Davis of Waterloo’ IA; daughter, Diana (Philip Mosley) Wagner of Lakeland’ FL; son, Robert (Jody) Juhl, Jr. of Waterloo’ IA; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Dorothy Gunderson and Beatrice Uhlenhopp.

Private Graveside Services will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
