Marlowe Denise Morehead was born October 2, 1951, in Chicago, IL, to Frank Sr and Dorothy Burke. Marlowe and her brothers were raised in Waterloo, IA, where she completed her primary education and graduated from East High School in 1969. After high school, Marlowe briefly attended University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls, IA. She later transferred to Western Michigan University (WMU) in Kalamazoo, MI, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1973.

Marlowe met Charles Morehead II while they were attending WMU. They married in 1973. From their union, they had two daughters, Monique and Michelle Morehead and later divorced in 1990. After her divorce, Marlowe met Billie Elder. In 1992, she decided to relocate from southwest Michigan to join her brothers in Dallas, TX. Billie relocated to Texas with Marlowe, where they've been together for the last 31 years.

Marlowe worked in various roles in the mortgage and financial services industry for over 30 years and retired from Bank of America in 2016.

Marlowe enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved visiting and traveling with her daughters and granddaughter.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Sr. and Dorothy Burke; her brother, Frank Burke, Jr.; and Charles Morehead II.

Marlowe leaves to cherish and celebrate her life: two daughters, Monique D. Morehead and Michelle D. Morehead; granddaughter, Jocelyn M. Davis; partner, Billie Elder; brothers, Harold Bryant, Gregory "Reggie" Burke, and Michael Burke (Rhonda) and a host of beloved family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 12-2 p.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Locke at Tower Park, 4140 Kimball Ave. Waterloo, Iowa 50701, with private family inurnment in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Waterloo.
