Marie Elizabeth Dietz

Marie E. Dietz, 94, of Waterloo, died on Thursday, January 26, 2023, at MercyOne Waterloo Medical Center.

Marie was born on December 21, 1928, in Aredale, daughter of Robert and Lanora Keding Van Riper.

She married Austin G. Dietz on May 25, 1946, in Nashua; he died March 27, 1988.

She worked as a dietary aide at St. Francis Hospital for 10 years and then was a homemaker in her own home.

She loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren.

Marie is survived by her daughters, Barb Wildeboer of West Chester, Judy (Richard) Manross of Denver and Betty (Burdette) Trueg of Evansdale; 8 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 8 step great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; 3 brothers, Emil, John and Walter Van Riper; granddaughter, Amy Manross; great grandson, Ryan Trueg; and great granddaughter, Klarissa Tomkins.

Visitation from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Locke Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Avenue, Waterloo. A family graveside service with burial to follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
