Margaret Handlen, age 87, of Montezuma, IA and formerly of Evansdale, died Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Montezuma Nursing and Rehab Center of cancer.

She was born January 31, 1926 the daughter of Pete and Josephine (Radke) Pappas. On January 27, 1948 she married Hollis Handlen. He preceded her in death. On June 10, 1994, she married Arno Behrens and they were later divorced. Margaret was a homemaker her entire life.

Survivors include a son, Larry (Linda) Fulk of Villisca, IA; 3 daughters, Kathy (Ronald), Zars of Montezuma, IA, Cynthia (Matt) Hunsicker of Sierra Vista, AZ, and Barbara (Greg) Roach of Evansdale, IA and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a sister, Diane (Chris) Bean of Waterloo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hollis in August 1986, a daughter, Patricia Boland, a sister, Mary Padulla and two grandsons, William Murphy and John Boland.
