Marc Jeffrey Kowalsky

Marc J. Kowalsky, 68, of La Porte City, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at his home. He was born July 30, 1957, in Waterloo, the son of Arnold and Pearl Butters Kowalsky. He attended La Porte City High School.

He married Anita Teatsworth in 1990 in La Porte City; they were later divorced.

He worked for many years helping Grover Parks in La Porte City with landscaping.

Marc loved exotic animals and proudly owned two bearded dragons. He cherished his earlier days as a drummer in a band, which always brought back joyful memories. He also found great joy in cooking and gardening, finding these hobbies both relaxing and rewarding.

He is survived by a daughter, Amber Kowalsky of Waterloo; a son, Josh (Ermina Dzebic) Kowalsky of Waterloo; 4 grandchildren, Ariana, Ariela, Aralia and Jaxson; a brother, Jon (Fay) Kowalsky of Fairfield Glade, TN; and two sisters, Joan (Claire) Foster of La Porte City and Jean (Andrew) Marshall of Rogers, AK.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Pamela Kowalsky, and a brother, Joel Kowalsky.

Graveside inurnment will be held at a later date in the West View Cemetery in La Porte City.
