Lynet Gay Jessen-Lorenz

Lynet Jessen-Lorenz, 68, of Waterloo, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at MercyOne Medical Center, from cancer. She was born March 26, 1956, in Korea, and was adopted by Otto and Marion Arthur Jessen. She graduated from Cedar Falls High School. She was married to Randy Lorenz for twenty years.

Lynet retired from John Deere, and then worked on a horse farm outside of Cedar Falls, where she took care of thirty horses. She also worked part time at HyVee. She liked watching TV, loved animals, and spending time with her sons and grandson. She went to many activities her grandson Lucas was involved in.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Lorenz of Waterloo; her three sons: Matthew (Heather White) Jessen, Patrick Berry, and Derrick (Jodi) Berry, all of Waterloo; grandson, Lucas Jessen; and her brothers Jerry (Julie) Jessen of Utah, and Tom Jessen of Virginia.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
