Lydia Margaret Hastings

Lydia M. Hastings, 103, of Waterloo died at Affinity House on Thursday, April 23, 2015.

She was born March 09, 1912 in Belle Plaine, the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Molimonek) Lebeda. Lydia married Hugh Hastings, December 24, 1935 in Waterloo, he preceded her in death on May 12, 2000.

She worked at MyJean Candy Company and for Hinson Manufacturing Co. for 10 years. Lydia was a member of Waterloo First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by: a daughter: Janice Ruhs of Waterloo; three Grandchildren, Linda Ruhs, Deborah McClain and Collin Ruhs; eight great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: four sisters, Emma Young, Bess Tegeler, Josephine ‘Pep’ Clear, and Mary Hadachek and two brothers, Joe and James Lebeda.
