Loretta C. Moeller, 88, of Waterloo, died Friday, February 15, 2008 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. Loretta was born April 29, 1919 in Bremer County, Iowa the daughter of Ferdinand and Louise (Schlomann) Homeyer.

Loretta married Leslie Moeller November 5, 1939 in Klinger, Iowa. They lived in Charles City from 1941 until moving to Waterloo in 1995. Loretta is a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church where she was active in Lydia Circle.

Loretta’s survivors include her husband Leslie, a daughter Teresa Schaefer and her husband David of Waterloo, and a son-in-law Gene Tommingo of Sierra Vista, Arizona. She is also survived by 6 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren: Shelley Birmingham, her husband Daniel and their daughters Jennifer and Samantha; Michael Tommingo, his wife Jutta, and their children Dominic and Lindsey; Sara Krantz, her husband Colin, and their son Jacob; Matthew Schaefer and his wife Allison; Andrew Schaefer; and Megan Schaefer. Loretta is also survived by her sisters Irene Weber of Denver, Iowa; and Mildred Smith of Covina, California.

She is preceded in death by a daughter Karen Tommingo, and brothers Henry and Elmer Homeyer.
