Linda Ruth Spaedt

Linda Ruth Spaedt, 75, of Germantown, TN, formerly of Waterloo, IA, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at her home in the company of her loved ones.

Mrs. Spaedt was born July 1, 1943, in Grand Rapids, MI, daughter of Francis and Maisie (Pilotte) Millett of Waterloo, where Mrs. Spaedt grew up. On August 29, 1975, she wed John W. Spaedt, who mourns her loss after 44 years of marriage.

She led a distinguished professional life, retiring from banking after 20 years as Vice President of Lending.

More than anything, Mrs. Spaedt cherished and celebrated life through her family. Together with Mr. Spaedt, her loss is mourned by her two sisters, Janis Robinson of Bettendorf, IA, and Sally (Lonnie) Darter of Waterloo; her brother, Danny (Cindy) Millett of Waterloo; five children: Terri (Mark) Lienhard of Jesup, IA, Kelly Anderson of Louisville, KY, Debbie Reed-Mennen of Waterloo, Julie (Jeff) Kokoschke of Buford, GA, and John (Rebekah) Spaedt of Memphis, TN; her 11 wonderful grandchildren; and her 11 beautiful great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Ronnie, Jerome, and Tom Millett; a brother-in-law, Grady Robinson; and two sisters-in-law, Kathy and Mary Millett.
