Lillian A. Sheeley, 102, of Waterloo, Iowa, died at Allen Memorial Hospital on Saturday, December 1, 2012 of natural causes.

Lillian Augusta Thieman was born October 28, 1910 in Marble Rock, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Alma Gunderson Thieman.

She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1928 and Gates Business College in 1929.

She married Carroll Sheeley January 11, 1930 in Denison, Iowa; he died May 18, 1998.

Mrs. Sheeley was a homemaker in her own home. She enjoyed growing her own vegetables and flowers on their acre of land and spent many hours canning and freezing her produce.

She had been a member of Central Christian Church since the age of 15.

She is survived by Mary Hesse of Iowa City, son Donald and his wife Dorothy of Omaha, Nebraska, son Douglas and his wife Catherine of La Porte City, 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, brother Paul Thieman of Cedar Falls, and sister Grace Hindersman of Los Banos, California.

Mrs. Sheeley was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
