Joy Adams, 74, of Waterloo, died at home Wednesday, Oct. 10, of natural causes.

She was born March 16, 1933, in Newport, Monmouthshire, Wales, daughter of Leslie and Olive Button Stockwell. She married Ronald D. Adams on April 9, 1955, in Waterloo. He died Dec. 15, 1989.

Mrs. Adams graduated in 1950 from Waterloo East High School. She and her husband co-owned Adams Grocery.

Survivors include: a son, Marc (Suzi) of Fort Worth, Texas; four daughters, Kerrith (Rick) Kern of Louisburg, N.C., Andrea (Mike) Young of Nevada, Megan Adams of Vero Beach, Fla., and Jennifer (Barry) Phillips of Osage; 13 grandchildren; and a sister, Lynda (Bill) Kintzle of Waterloo.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with burial in Waterloo Memorial Park Cemetery. Public visitation from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.
