LeRoy Brasch, 83, of Friendship Village died there Monday, June 9, 2008.

LeRoy was born November 11, 1924 in Mount Vernon Township, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Ceola (Nesfield) Brasch. He graduated from Orange High School in 1942. He married Jeanette Entz on November 30, 1946 in Waterloo.

LeRoy farmed in the Hudson area from 1946 to 1981. He worked as a claims adjustor for Black Hawk Mutual Insurance from 1981 until 1993.

He was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church, Past President of the COOP of Hudson, Charter Member and Past President of the Hudson Lions Club, and an active member of the Farm Bureau and 4H Club.

LeRoy was a gentle man who always took care of his family and helped his neighbors. He enjoyed woodworking, watching baseball, playing golf and loved visiting with people.

LeRoy is survived by his wife Jeanette of Waterloo, son Mikel Brasch of Hutchinson, Minnesota, daughter Jeanne Speas and her husband John of Waterloo, three grandchildren: Daniel Brasch, Michelle Mangrich, and Scott Mangrich. He is also survived by brother Claire Brasch and his wife Dorothy of St. Ansgar, Iowa, sister-in-law Carla Brasch of Waterloo and special family friend Margaret Williams of Hudson.

He is preceded in death by brother Roland Brasch.
