Leonard Wayne Gebhardt

Leonard W. Gebhardt, 83, of Cedar Falls, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, October 25, 2024, at Unity Point-Allen.

Leonard was born on July 6, 1941, in Clay Center, KS, to Emil and Goldie (Bidwell) Gebhardt. He served in the United States Army. Leonard married Marguerite "Peggy" Mullarkey on June 24, 1972, at Immaculate Conception Parish-Wexford. He worked for John Deere for 25 years working as a machinist at Engine Works, retiring in 1999, where he was a member of the UAW Local #838.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Dorothy Cheney and Helen Darter, and brothers, Richard, Kenneth, and Ernest.

Leonard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Peggy Gebhardt of Cedar Falls; sons, Daniel (Monique Johnson) Gebhardt of Hudson and Todd (Diane) Gebhardt of Tripoli; daughter, Theresa (Rodney Meyer) Gebhardt of Geneva; sister, Cheryl Gebhardt of Minneapolis; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

The Gebhardt Family will be hosting a Celebration of Life on November 10, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Majestic Moon Event Center, 1955 Locke Ave, Waterloo.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Gebhardt Family or to a charity of your choice with designations made at a later date.
