Leian Rene Kammeyer

February 7, 1969 August 25, 2024

Leian Rene Kammeyer, 55, of Cedar Falls, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 25, 2024, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home.

Leian was born on February 7, 1969, in Waterloo, to Ritchie and Vera (Skinner) McConeghey. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1987, and continued her education at Wartburg, graduating in 1993, with her accounting degree. Leian began her career with Operation Threshold in 2000, becoming their Deputy Director in 2009, retiring in 2024. She proudly served on the board of the People's Community Health Clinic in numerous capacities. Leian married her best friend, Kenneth Kammeyer, on June 22, 1991. She and Ken were blessed with three wonderful boys who were her pride and joy. Leian loved spending time with her family and close friends, reading, and staying active. Her favorite thing in the summer was to walk down to Cedar Fall's main street for dinner and a drink, and riding motorcycles, especially on day trips around Iowa. While being a wife and mother was a great accomplishment, becoming a Mema to her two precious granddaughter was a role Leian relished in.

She is preceded in death by her father, brother, Christopher McConeghey, and father-in-law, Larry Kammeyer.

Leian is survived by her loving husband, Ken Kammeyer; three sons, Austin (Kaitlin), Alek (Kerigan), and Ayren (Mace) Kammeyer; brother, James (Enisa) McConeghey; sister Donna McConeghey; sister- in-law, Carolyn (Kevin Molstrom) Sparks; two granddaughters, Piper, and Estella Kammeyer; her mother, Vera McConeghey; mother-in-law, Carol Kammeyer; many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Leian will be remembered fondly for her loving heart, her passion for family, and her quick wit-She always had an answer for everything.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Valley Hospice or Mercy One Cancer Treatment Center.
