Larry Amos, 82, of Waterloo, died at his home Thursday, February 4, 2016, of natural causes. Larry was born January 5, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Otto and Mary Cornelius Amos. He graduated from Boytown High School in 1952.

Larry met Sharon Shook skating at the roller rink and they were married on June 4, 1960 in Waterloo. He worked for Titus Manufacturing; then as a production welder at Waterloo Industries for 15 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Waterloo Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Larry was a quiet man, but loved to travel. He enjoyed spending time in Anna Marie Island in Florida. Larry was a loving father; he enjoyed goofing around with his kids when they were younger. He was a hard worker and shared in the responsibilities around the house with Sharon. They enjoyed spending time together on the Mississippi River at Prairie du Chien and going out to eat.

Larry is survived by his wife Sharon of Waterloo; 4 daughters: Julie Bolin of Waterloo; Karen (Mike) Harper of Waterloo; Kim Fowler of Bradenton, Florida; Becky Barron of Cedar Rapids; a son Jeff Amos of Acampo, California; 6 grandchildren: Sara Bolin, Ian (Chelsea) Wilson, Jason Amos, Shawna Amos, Noah Schatz, and Carlee Miller; and one great-grandson: Christian Wilson. He is also survived by two sisters: Ethel Dowling of Norton, Kansas and Elizabeth Anderson of Largo, Florida.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and a great grandson.
