Larry Gene Klein

Larry G. Klein, 73, of Waterloo, died at Allen Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 15, 2009 of heart failure.

Larry Gene Klein was born May 1, 1935, in Waterloo, the son of Cecil and Edna (Bovey) Klein. Larry graduated from West High School in 1953.

On April 2, 1954, Larry married Jere Reisinger in Waterloo. He served two years in the U.S. Army stationed in Germany. Larry was a salesman for 32 years at Midwest Motor Bearing.

He loved spending time with his family, at his grandchildren’s activities, and with his longtime friends. His favorite pastime was playing billiards at the Elks Lodge, cards with his card group, play or watch golf. Larry was an avid TV sport nut. He loved watching Tiger Woods. He always had great fun when he and his brothers were together. Larry was very caring, and family-oriented Husband, Dad, and Grandpa.

He is survived by his wife Jere, son Steve and his wife Leslie, daughter Linn Holmes and her husband Jeff, daughter Leslie Steimel and her husband Leo, all of Waterloo, and seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Larry is also survived by his brother Gerald L. Klein and his wife Suzanne of Anaheim Hills, California, sister-in-law Millie Klein of Ramona, California, and two nieces and a nephew.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents and brother Jack L. Klein.
