Kevin W. Gray, 58 of Marion, formerly of Waterloo, passed away on January 29, 2024, at his home in Marion. He was born March 18, 1965, in Waterloo, son of Kenneth W. and Carole J. (Pond) Gray. Kevin graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1983 and continued his education at the University of Northern Iowa. He was a member of the Delta Upsilon Fraternity, and received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science.
Kevin was a licensed Journeyman Electrician, and a proud member of the IBEW
Local 405 and the Collins Aerospace IBEW Local 1362. He dedicated 18 years of
service to Collins Aerospace, retiring on April 1, 2022.
Forming close friendships during his grade school years, those valued friendships continued throughout his lifetime. He was a football enthusiast, being an avid Hawkeye and Packers fan. Kevin enjoyed fishing, with multiple trips to Minnesota and Canada. He loved grilling and experimenting with new crockpot recipes. He liked watching classic movies and documentaries. He was also a lifelong member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Waterloo.
Kevin always enjoyed reading and educating himself with facts and knowledge. In his retirement, he took courses to keep his professional license current. He had a passion for education and diligently stayed up-to-date with the electrical code. He consistently motivated his nieces and nephews about the importance of higher education, expressing sincere interest in the classes they selected.
He is survived by his sisters: Kathy (Paul) Corwin and Karen (Jeff) Bass, both of Waterloo. Nephews: Ryan (Suzy) Corwin and Alex Bass. His niece, Rachel Bass, and his great nephew, Harrison Corwin.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30am Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at Locke at Tower
Park, (4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo).
Burial will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00pm Monday, February 5, 2024, at Locke at Tower
Park (4140 Kimball Ave, Waterloo).
