Ken Edward Trimble, 73, formerly of Waterloo, passed away peacefully Monday, February 2, 2026, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law in Bettendorf, IA.
Ken was born on March 20, 1952, in Oskaloosa, IA, the son of Harold Trimble and Genevieve Sharp Trimble. Ken graduated from Hudson High School in 1970 and attended Hawkeye Tech (now Hawkeye Community College) in Waterloo with a Registered Nursing degree. Ken was a production machinist at John Deere and Co. for 30 years, retiring in 2003. He also had a nursing career which spanned from 1985 to 2012. Nursing was Ken’s love and passion, and he worked as a paramedic for Satori Hospital Paramedic Services and 3rd shift in the ER and ICU at Sartori Hospital in Cedar Falls.
Ken was more than a class act-he was an exemplary human being. He was always by his family’s side as they worked through the trials of life. His presence, kindness, compassion, generosity, empathy, thoughtfulness, and unconditional love and support always meant more to the family than words can express. Ken was also a member of the United Methodist Church of Hudson and enjoyed hunting and trap shooting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Kory Hogfoss, and sister Lana Trimble.
Ken is survived by his children, Tina (Curt Wyborny) Hogfoss of Marble Rock, IA, Todd (Lisa) Trimble of Bettendorf, and Tara Bevans of Waterloo; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-great grandson; brother, Kerry (Kathy) Trimble of Waterloo, and many other family members and friends.
A visitation for Ken will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. , at the United Methodist Church of Hudson, 301 Washington St, Hudson, IA with the funeral to follow at the church at 11:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Hudson Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.

I am do sorry to hear that Ken has passed. We were able to reconnect last summer at the 55th class reunion. He also joined classmates for post-reunion lunches. I wish I was able to get to know him better. He was a great guy ! Thank you for the memories.

I’m sorry sorry to hear of Ken’s passing. I really enjoyed working with him at Sartori hospital years ago. Thinking about his family at this difficult time.

I’m so sorry for your loss my prayers are with you. Ken was a really great guy for the several days I got to know him. Always great to make a joke, smile with him, and laugh especially when his daughter-in-law was taking a nap on the couch or his son was there at dinner time. A really great guy to know.
